Collection: Surface Conditioning Abrasives

Non-woven surface conditioning abrasives clean, blend and finish metal without changing its dimensions. The open nylon web holds abrasive grain in a resin bond, so it removes scratches, oxidation and light burrs while leaving a uniform satin or brushed finish. We stock surface conditioning belts in more than 40 sizes – from 1/2" x 18" and 1" x 30" up to 37" x 75" and 52" x 103" – plus 4-1/2" flap discs and 2" and 3" quick-change discs.

Coarse, medium or very fine?

• Coarse (brown) – removes weld discoloration, heavy oxidation and 120-grit scratches.
• Medium (maroon) – the general-purpose grade for blending and a #4 brushed finish on stainless.
• Very fine (blue) – final satin finish and prep before buffing.

Surface conditioning belts are the standard last step before polishing on stainless, and the standard finish on architectural and food-service stainless. Match the belt size to your sander or grinder exactly as you would a coated belt.
