THE BACKING CHANGES HOW THE SHEET BEHAVES
A cloth sheet, cabinet paper, stearated paper, and wet/dry silicon carbide sheet are not interchangeable. Match the construction to the contour, surface, sanding method, and whether liquid is part of the process.

DECISION GUIDE
Use the application guidance below, then choose a grit and pack size offered for that exact construction.
The most flexible cloth option on this page for contour sanding and durable hand or machine use on validated wood or metal work.
The broadest fine-grit range, extending through 3000 grit for wet or dry processes that are compatible with the work material and equipment.
Paper-backed aluminum oxide choices for general dry sanding on wood, paint, primer, plastic, fiberglass, and other validated surfaces.
Stearated paper choices for dry sanding where paint, primer, sealer, lacquer, or similar finishes may otherwise load the sheet.
HOW TO USE IT
The correct sequence depends on the work material, starting defects, hand or machine method, and finish target.
Choose the sheet construction for dry or wet/dry use, flexibility, and loading resistance.
Select the least aggressive starting grit that will remove the existing defect or scratch pattern.
Secure the sheet to the tool or sanding block, or fold it without creating a hard edge that can gouge the surface.
Sand with even pressure and clean the surface between grit changes.
Move progressively finer only after the prior scratch pattern has been removed.
Use the guarding, extraction or collection, personal protective equipment, training, and operating procedures required by the machine, abrasive product, work material, and workplace.
PRODUCT FAQ
The current selector lists aluminum oxide J-weight cloth, silicon carbide Wet/Dry, aluminum oxide paper, and silicon carbide stearated paper.
Choose the option explicitly labeled Silicon Carbide Wet/Dry. Do not assume the cloth, aluminum oxide paper, or stearated paper choices are intended for wet use.
The J-weight aluminum oxide cloth is the flexible cloth option and is suited to contour sanding where a durable, conformable backing is needed.
The Silicon Carbide Stearate Paper option is positioned for dry sanding of lacquer, paint, primer, sealer, and similar surfaces where loading is a concern.
No. Grit and pack-size availability changes by abrasive and backing. Choose Abrasive/Backing first and use only combinations enabled by the live selector.
Shipping methods, rates, and delivery estimates depend on the order and destination and are shown at checkout. The return policy provides a 30-day window for eligible unused items in original condition and packaging. Restrictions and return-shipping costs apply.
