How to order custom sanding belts
At Maverick Abrasives we specialize in the manufacturing of custom sanding belts. We have all of the most popular materials to choose from such as aluminum oxide cloth backed, aluminum oxide paper, silicone carbide cloth backed, silicone carbide paper, Zirconia (R205 or PZ628), Zirconia with a Grinding Aid (R203 or PZ528), as well as our famous Ceramic Shredder material. We can make virtually any type of sanding belt or sanding disc using these materials and best of all we have LOW MINIMUMS on all of our custom abrasives. In addition to our low minimums, we also manufacture the custom belts and discs in roughly 3 days!
How do i measure a sanding belt the right way?
The measurement of the sanding belt you need is the WIDTH X TOTAL Length. You can easily measure the width of the belt by holding a ruler across it. But when it comes to the TOTAL LENGTH, this is where people get confused and sometimes measure incorrectly. If you are measuring an old belt, remember it is a BELT, and we need the TOTAL length. This means that the best and most accurate way to measure the sanding belt is to cut the belt completely in half, which will now give you one long strip. You simply need to measure from one end to the other end and this will be your TOTAL length. You can watch the video below to get a visual on how to properly measure the sanding belt:
