Collection: Airway Buffing Wheels

Airway buffing wheels are made from pleated muslin cloth clinched into a steel center so air moves through the wheel, keeping it cool and keeping compound from loading. We manufacture them in 6" through 20" diameters and in mill treatments from stiff (red, orange) for cutting to soft (yellow, pink, UBM untreated, Domet flannel) for coloring and final polish.

Which treatment do you need?

• Red treated – stiffest wheel, for cutting stainless and steel with the black stainless bar.
• Orange treated – slightly softer, for cutting aluminum with brown tripoli.
• Pink treated – second-step polish on stainless with yellow deluxe.
• Yellow mill treated – second-step polish on aluminum with green rouge.
• UBM untreated – soft final polish with purple high luster or No Scratch Pink.
• Domet flannel – the softest wheel, for jewelry and the last pass to a mirror.

Sizing and safety

Match wheel diameter to your machine: 6" and 8" for bench grinders, 10" to 14" for polishing lathes, 16" to 20" for production buffers.
