TWO GRAIN FAMILIES FOR A SIX-INCH PSA SYSTEM

Use the cloth-backed disc with a clean compatible pad or steel platen

Pressure-sensitive adhesive secures the disc directly to a qualified 6-inch attachment surface. The X-weight cloth backing supports demanding sanding, while the chosen grain, grit, pad, pressure, speed, and substrate determine the cut.

01

Fifty discs per box

Every selected option contains 50 matching 6-inch cloth PSA discs.

02

25 live combinations

Twelve aluminum oxide and thirteen silicon carbide variants are listed.

03

Customer-verified rating

4.8 out of 5 from 6 reviews. Available review content appears below.

DECISION GUIDE

What should you verify before choosing?

The exact fit, abrasive construction, grit, machine setup, work material, and finish target all affect the result.

ALUMINUM OXIDE

36–600 grit broad progression

A general-purpose range for sanding, deburring, blending, and finish preparation on qualified wood or metal processes.

SILICON CARBIDE

36–600 grit sharp-cutting progression

A hard, sharp grain for controlled scratch refinement on qualified substrates. The live range includes 50 grit in addition to the shared stages.

X-WEIGHT CLOTH

Tough backing for more demanding sanding

The original record specifies X-weight cloth and resin bond. Cloth tolerates more demanding use than lightweight paper, but damaged edges, creases, or backing still require replacement.

PSA ATTACHMENT

Press flat onto a compatible clean surface

Peel the liner, center the disc, and apply even pressure. A PSA disc is not a hook-and-loop disc and should not be placed on an incompatible surface.

CLOTH PSA CONSTRUCTION

What are you buying—and what else does the system need?

Each disc combines abrasive grain, resin bond, X-weight cloth backing, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive liner. The compatible backup pad or steel platen, tool, and work support are separate parts of the sanding system.

ABRASIVE FACE

Grain and grit control the cutting stage

Use the live variant name as the product specification. Different grain families have different available ranges, and a higher-priced grain is not automatically right for every job.

RESIN BOND

The bond anchors grain to the cloth

Heat resistance does not remove system limits. Monitor temperature, loading, edge wear, backing condition, and any change in attachment during use.

X-WEIGHT CLOTH

Tough backing for demanding sanding

Cloth is more durable than lightweight paper in many heavy or edge-wear applications, but it is less compliant for fine paint-preparation work and must still match the pad and tool.

PSA LINER

Peel, center, press, and remove

Pressure-sensitive adhesive attaches directly to a clean compatible surface. It is not hook-and-loop, and a damaged, oily, dusty, overheated, or wrong-size pad can compromise the attachment.

PSA DISC SETUP

How to install a cloth PSA sanding disc

PSA VS. HOOK-AND-LOOP

Match the disc to the attachment surface

PSA uses adhesive contact across the back of the disc. Hook-and-loop uses mating textile faces. Do not place one system directly on the other unless the tool manufacturer approves a purpose-built interface.

Do not generalize wet-use claims. Use liquid only when the exact disc, adhesive, pad, machine, electrical setup, work material, and operating procedure are approved for it.

HOW TO USE IT

Center, press, test, and remove the disc correctly

Use the sander and pad instructions for power isolation, disc diameter, pad condition, speed, guards, extraction, pressure, and removal.

  1. 01

Disconnect power and confirm the tool uses an approved 6-inch cloth PSA disc and attachment surface.

  2. 02

Clean and inspect the pad or platen; replace it if worn, distorted, contaminated, or damaged.

  3. 03

Remove the liner, center the disc without stretching, and press evenly from the center outward.

  4. 04

Start clear of the work and test the chosen grain and grit on representative material.

  5. 05

Stop fully before peeling the disc and prepare a clean, flat surface for the replacement.

Use the guarding, extraction or collection, personal protective equipment, training, and operating procedures required by the machine, abrasive product, work material, and workplace.

Use it for

  • Compatible 6-inch PSA backup pads or steel platens
  • Wood and metal sanding with the matched grain
  • Deburring, blending, and surface preparation
  • Coarse removal through 600-grit refinement
  • Approved stationary, disc, orbital, or random-orbital equipment

Do not use it for

  • Hook-and-loop-only pads without a compatible PSA interface
  • An incorrect diameter or damaged attachment surface
  • Selecting zirconia or ceramic—neither is offered here
  • Wet use without explicit disc-and-machine approval
  • Operating above the lowest system speed rating

PRODUCT FAQ

Questions before you choose?

Which abrasive materials are available in 6-inch size?

The live selector offers aluminum oxide and silicon carbide only. Aluminum oxide has 12 grit options from 36 to 600, while silicon carbide has 13 because it also includes 50 grit.

What does PSA mean?

PSA means pressure-sensitive adhesive. Peel the liner and press the disc flat onto a clean compatible 6-inch PSA backup pad or steel platen.

How is cloth backing different from paper?

X-weight cloth is tougher and intended for more demanding sanding and edge wear. Paper is generally used for lighter finishing and paint preparation. Neither is universally better; match the backing to the tool, pad, substrate, and finish.

Can I use these on a hook-and-loop pad?

Not directly. These are PSA discs and require a compatible PSA surface or an approved interface specifically designed for the tool and disc.

What is the finest option?

Both aluminum oxide and silicon carbide are offered through 600 grit. Confirm that a 600-grit cloth-disc scratch is appropriate for the next coating or finishing stage.

What are the shipping and return terms?

Shipping methods, rates, and delivery estimates depend on the order and destination and are shown at checkout. The return policy provides a 30-day window for eligible unused items in original condition and packaging. Restrictions and return-shipping costs apply.
