How do you measure a sanding belt the right way?
The size you need is width x total length. Width is easy: lay a ruler across the belt. Total length is where people get it wrong. A sanding belt is a loop, and we need the total length of that loop, not a flat measurement across it. The most accurate way to measure is to cut your old belt completely in half so it opens into one long strip, then measure from one end to the other. That number is your total length.

What sizes of custom sanding belts can you make?
Almost any size: widths from 1/4" to 60" and lengths up to 400". If you can't find your size stocked anywhere, that is exactly what this service is for.
How do I measure a sanding belt?
Width x total length. Measure the width with a ruler. For the length, cut the old belt in half so it becomes one long strip and measure it end to end. The video on this page shows the whole process.
What is the minimum order for custom belts?
Our minimums are low. You don't need an industrial production run. Tell us the quantity you actually need and we will quote it.
How long do custom belts take?
Custom belts and discs are converted and prepared in roughly 3 business days after your order, and we answer quote requests within 24 hours.
Which abrasive material should I choose?
Aluminum oxide for general woodworking and the best value. Zirconia for aggressive stock removal on metal and hardwood. Ceramic (our Shredder line) for the longest life and coolest cut on hard metals. Silicon carbide for glass, stone, finishes, and fine sanding. Not sure?
