What does each grit range do?
Level uneven stock and address heavier glue lines or surface irregularities.
Continue leveling and reduce the scratch pattern left by a coarser grit.
Refine the surface after general surfacing and before finer sanding stages.
Prepare for final sanding based on the wood and finishing system.
Selected variants for finer sanding stages where the process calls for them.
Plan the whole sanding sequence: wood species, glue, stock condition, feed rate, cut depth, and the desired finish all affect the right starting and ending grit. A separate finish-sanding step may still be needed.
HOW TO CUT AND WRAP
Use the machine’s pattern—not guesswork

No. These rolls are plain-backed cloth abrasive. Order them only for a drum sander that accepts a plain-backed wrap. Maverick sells hook-and-loop drum rolls as a separate product.
