EDGE SANDING CONCENTRATES THE CONTACT

Manage pressure, tracking, and part support along a long belt path

An edge sander can shape quickly at a narrow contact area. Confirm exact fit, support the work as the machine requires, and inspect tracking, heat, loading, scratch depth, and edge geometry.

DECISION GUIDE

What should you verify before choosing?

The exact fit, abrasive construction, grit, machine setup, work material, and finish target all affect the result.

ALUMINUM OXIDE

36–400 grit broad progression

A general-purpose choice from coarse shaping through fine preparation when matched to the substrate and machine.

ZIRCONIA

36–120 grit tough removal range

Use for demanding coarse and medium stock removal where appropriate pressure, speed, and heat control keep the grain working.

SILICON CARBIDE

36–400 grit sharp-cutting range

Use when a hard, sharp grain and controlled scratch are appropriate for the exact substrate. Confirm rather than generalizing across every wood, metal, or composite.

HOW TO USE IT

Install, track, and test the edge-sander belt

Follow the machine manual for lockout, direction, tension, tracking, guarding, platen or oscillation setup, work support, and collection.

  1. 01

Lock out power and verify the required belt is exactly 4 inches × 132 inches.

  2. 02

Inspect the abrasive, backing, edges, joint, rollers, platen, and collection path.

  3. 03

Install in the required direction and set tension and tracking to specification.

  4. 04

Run without stock and verify stable tracking and full clearance.

  5. 05

Test representative material with supported feed and inspect the edge before production.

Use the guarding, extraction or collection, personal protective equipment, training, and operating procedures required by the machine, abrasive product, work material, and workplace.

Use it for

  • Compatible 4-inch × 132-inch edge sanders
  • Wood edge shaping and finish preparation
  • Qualified metal deburring and edge preparation
  • Supported platen work allowed by the machine
  • Progressive scratch refinement across available grits

Do not use it for

  • A machine requiring another width or loop length
  • Freehand work without required work support or guarding
  • A damaged belt joint, backing, or edge
  • Skipping grits before the prior scratch is removed
  • Assuming wet use without full belt-and-machine confirmation

PRODUCT FAQ

Questions before you choose?

What comes in each 4-inch x 132-inch order?

Each selected variant contains six matching belts in one abrasive material and grit.

Which abrasive materials and grits are available?

Aluminum oxide and silicon carbide are listed from 36 through 400 grit. Zirconia is listed from 36 through 120 grit.

How do I choose the starting grit for edge sanding?

Use the least aggressive grit that corrects the edge or removes the defect. Test the feed and pressure, then use intermediate stages to remove that scratch before the target finish.

Will these fit every 4-inch edge sander?

No. Fit requires both a 4-inch width and 132-inch loop plus compatible backing, joint, direction, tension, tracking, speed, and machine requirements.

Can Maverick make another grit?

The live selector controls current online availability. For a commercial quantity or an unlisted combination, contact Maverick with the exact machine, material, finish target, and expected usage.

What are the shipping and return terms?

Shipping methods, rates, and delivery estimates depend on the order and destination and are shown at checkout. The return policy provides a 30-day window for eligible unused items in original condition and packaging. Restrictions and return-shipping costs apply.
